Designed by architects JB and W Atkinson, the Elmbank Hotel dates from around 1870 and boasts a country house ambience, making it an ideal base for all visitors, whether travelling on business or pleasure. Murals, frescoes and a magnificent oak staircase leading to a gallery with stained glass windows are just a few of the fine examples of art nouveau evident in the public areas. All 63 guestrooms (including the 15 rooms in the adjacent Elmbank Lodge) are non-smoking and equipped with modern amenities. They comprise Single, Twin, Double, Quad and Triple rooms. Noted for its beautifully restored décor, the hotel’s Walton Bar is the ideal meeting place for an aperitif or a lunchtime snack. Guests can also dine in style in the intimate atmosphere of the elegant restaurant, which offers a range of international dishes, complemented by a comprehensive wine list and served by attentive staff.
